Adjunct Education Instructor

Ashley Selck

Master's Degree-Education
With Cabrillo College since 2018

Education is my passion and I love to pass my excitement for this subject onto my students. I discovered my love for education as a young girl, I was naturally curious, and wanted to reform my own learning experience in order to make it more interesting. I began my teaching career in 2010. I am a proponent of student-centered learning and project-based learning. I have taught English, history, economics, and government. I have experience teaching middle school, high school, and college students. I believe all students can learn if they have a caring teacher.

My number one goal as an instructor at Cabrillo College is to create an engaging classroom experience where students can contribute to inquiry work, where they are talking, questioning, analyzing, and creating projects in small teams to demonstrate their learning. Essentially, I want to provide an enjoyable environment where students are part of the classroom community.

I look forward to empowering future educators!
