Employment and Preparation

The Student Employment Center promotes career development by connecting students and alumni with employers in the community, including many departments on the Cabrillo campus.

Cabrillo offers the Seahawk Online Job Board, job fairs, networking opportunities, workshops and individual career coaching for reviewing resumes, cover letters, interview skills, and job search support.

Find a Job

Seahawk Jobs is Cabrillo College’s online job database. It includes on-campus, off-campus, and part-time and full-time career positions. Check frequently as new opportunities are added daily. All currently enrolled Cabrillo students and alumni have access to this online resource 24/7.

Current students must be enrolled in at least 3 units to register. Please allow 1-3 business days for access requests to be approved. You can find the Seahawk Jobs database here.

Resume & Interview Prep

The Student Employment Center offers individual appointments and workshops for resume development or review. To schedule an appointment, please email Desha Staley-Raatior or call (831) 479-6413

On Campus Employment

There a variety of opportunities to work on campus. Each department conducts their own interviews and makes their own selection decisions. Many of the departments post their positions through the Seahawk job board.

Since not all departments post through the job board, the staff encourage you to approach departments and ask if they are seeking student workers.

Department Funded Employment: Students enrolled in 6 or more units are eligible to work part-time on-campus within a variety of departments. They must follow the application instructions, process, and meet the qualifications in order to be considered for the position.

Federal Work Study: Federal Work-Study provides part-time on-campus jobs for students with financial need that are enrolled in at least 6 units. Students must complete the FAFSA and receive a Work Study Award through the Financial Aid office. There are several departments on campus that have positions to fill each semester on a first come, first serve basis. Funds are limited, so not all qualifying students will receive an award. For more detailed information go to the Financial Aid page here.

CalWorks: CalWorks provides part-time on or off campus jobs for students with financial need. The requirements for eligibility are that you are receiving CalWORKs/TANF, are enrolled in at least 6 units and are in good academic standing. For more information, call the Student Resource & Support Network office at (831) 479-6344.

How Employers Can Get Involved

Local employers interested in hiring Cabrillo College students can create an account and post to our Seahawks Online Job Board here. This process is free. Please allow 2-5 business days for approval.

Employers are also invited to schedule an information session about their company, discuss the hiring process, and conduct on campus interviews with our students. To schedule an information session or interview email the Coordinator Desha Staley-Raatior.

They can also attend our Job & Internship Fair during the Spring semester.
