What is Virtual College & Career Week?

College and Career Week is an opportunity to meet representatives from numerous public and private universities from across the country.You will also learn about Cabrillo Colleges programs and explore a variety of career paths. We will be using the zoom platform for our sessions.

After registration, you will receive the zoom links for the various sessions.

Who Should Attend?

We encourage high school students, parents, transfer students and community members to join us.

Event Details

College and Career Week is a 3 day event which includes meeting with university representatives, learning about Cabrillo College, and career exploration. You decide which sessions you’d like to attend throughout the three days.

Oct. 26: University Rep Night

Representatives from over 50 public, private, and out- of- state colleges and universities will be available to answer your questions.

The representatives will be offering live zoom sessions at 5:30pm, 6:15pm & 7pm. We encourage you to join a zoom room and ask your questions using the chat feature.

We will also offer a Transfer Pathways Workshop at 5:30pm:
Interested in transferring to a 4 year university? Cabrillo Academic Counselors will review the variety of transfer pathways available to students.

Oct. 27 Cabrillo College Day

9:30am “I’m going to College” - Fourth & Fifth Grade Experience
What is higher education? This is an invitation to all 4th & 5th graders in the County to be inspired and aware of the College Experience.
5:30pm Financial Aid 101
How do I pay for college? Financial aid staff will walk you through the financial aid process.
Offered in English and Spanish.
6:00pm Making Cabrillo Work For You
Why attend a community college? Find out how Cabrillo supports your academic and career goals, whether you are in high school, have just graduated, or are working! You will learn about career pathway alignment with high schools including Cabrillo’s dual enrollment and the exciting opportunities in Career Technical Education.

6:30pm Transfer Pathways
Interested in transferring to a 4 year university? Cabrillo Academic Counselors will review the variety of transfer pathways available to students.
Honors Program
Why would I apply for the Honors Program? The Cabrillo Honors Program is for High-Achieving students who plan to transfer to a selective 4-year University.
7:00pm Career and Academic Pathways
What are Career and Academic Pathways (CAP)? They are a community of faculty, staff and fellow students who share your academic and professional interests. They will help you forge your path to complete a major, earn a certificate or prepare to transfer.
Discover Career Coach
How do I figure out what I want to study? Learn about a user-friendly and interactive tool that allows current and prospective students to browse Cabrillo programs and majors, explore careers, find jobs, create resumes and take strengths assessments to guide them toward more thoughtful career exploration.

Oct. 28: Career Exploration

Learn about current and future workforce demands, tools for gaining real-life work experience, and hear from local employers about job opportunities.

Receive the latest information on the current labor market trends and projections for the future. Learn about the various career resources available at Cabrillo College.

Learn about local companies and how to gain real life work experience.
