  • Black History MonthThursday, February 11 • 35th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Convocation, 7:00pm Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium, 307 Church Street, Santa Cruz. Transportation is sponsored by the Office of Student Equity. Please sign up for the vanpool HERE.
  • Tuesday, February 12 • Beyond Borders - Undocumented Mexican Americans, 4:00pm-6:00pm, Cabrillo Aptos Main Campus, Room 450. Come join us for a free screening of the documentary Beyond Borders. There will be a Q&A following the movie. Come build community and learn about resources available for undocumented Americans. Everyone is welcome.

  • Tuesday, February 19 • Black History Month Movie Screening, 4:00pm-6:30pm, Cabrillo College, Lower Campus, VAPA 1001. Blackkklansman, a Spike Lee film.
  • Saturday, March 9 • Latino Role Models (LRM) Conference, Cabrillo College Crocker Theatre. The conference is FREE and organized by Senderos, a multi-service nonprofit creating successful pathways for the Latino community of Santa Cruz County and building cross-cultural connections locally and abroad. Students (grades 6 through college) and their families are encouraged to attend this exciting annual conference featuring Latino college students and professionals and workshops inspiring students to achieve their college and career dreams.  The conference is conducted in Spanish with English translation. The Office of Student Equity is the official Cabrillo sponsor for this event.   • Tuesday, April 9 • Art for Resilience, Time & Location TBD. The Dream Resource Program in collaboration with the Sueños Club will host a paint activity. Everyone is welcome to attend and learn about the symbolizism of the Monarch Butterfly as it relates to the immigrant community. Please check back for more information!
