Cabrillo College General Scholarship Program

Funded through private donations to the Cabrillo College Foundation, scholarships are awarded to selected Cabrillo College students who show academic promise, scholastic achievement, and community and/or campus involvement.

This application places students in consideration for the scholarships generated through the Cabrillo College Foundation as well as some private scholarships throughout the year.

Scholarship awards range from $500-$2,500 to be disbursed beginning Fall of the following school year.


Cabrillo College General Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To apply you must:

  • Enroll in and complete a minimum of 6 units at Cabrillo for the Fall term
  • Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA for all Cabrillo College course work
  • Submit a 19-20 FAFSA or Dream Act Application (excludes international students)
  • Follow instructions and complete the entire Application Process


Application Instructions

A complete application must be received by the scholarship deadline.

  2. To access eform application: Login to WebAdvisor
      Click on eForms link
      Follow eForms Login Instructions in blue box
    Note: The FIRST TIME you go to eForms, you will have to ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT BEFORE you will be able to login. You must have a current application for admission with the college to activate your eForms account.

    The application is available after Fall 2020 semester end in Cabrillo's eForms


The most heavily weighted part of the application is your Student Statement

Essay Writing Workshops for Spring 2020

Your statement should describe the following:

  • Special circumstances or unusual hardships
  • Your educational & career goals and how you know those are the right goals for you
  • Other claims on your time beyond class and homework
  • Any personal experiences that have impacted the pursuit of your education

Application Deadline: February 5th, 2021 before 5pm

Once the application deadline has passed. The next cycle will begin again the following December.

Selection of Recipients

Cabrillo College General Scholarships recipients are chosen by a panel of Cabrillo College faculty and staff members, and a Cabrillo College Foundation Board member. 

After Fall grades are posted, eligible applications will be reviewed by the selection committee in the Spring term. Awarded applicants will be notified in May by mail.


To Receive your Award

In order for awards to be released, students must:

  • Submit a Thank You Letter to the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office for the donor of the scholarship (Sample Thank You Letter pdf) AND

Ineligible applicants will be notified by email of their status


Scholarship Ranking occurs to select the recipients for the next school year


Awarded scholarship applicants will be notified by mail of their status and of any requirements that need to be met to receive their scholarship funds.


Scholarship funds will be released if all requirements are met:

  • Thank You Letter received
  • Enrollment requirements met
  • Proof of enrollment provided if not enrolled at Cabrillo
