How do I get an account?
Activate your account at the accounts computer at the CTC, Library, WTC, Scotts Valley, or anywhere on campus at lookup. If you activate your account from the Blackboard page, you will need to re-activate on campus in order to use the campus computers.
Do I get a new account every semester?
Yes, new campus network accounts are issued every semester to registered students. The account name may be the same as last semester, but it is a new account and will need to be activated on campus at lookup.
Do I need my student ID number in order to activate my account ?
Yes, your student ID number can be found in WebAdvisor, on your registration papers, on your student ID card, or at admissions and records. If you don't have those options available, contact the CTC front desk.
Is the campus network, Hawknet, and Blackboard account the same?
Yes, but you must ativate your account on campus at lookup to use the campus computers.
Can I activate my account at the Blackboard page for Blackboard (online course manager)or Hawknet (wireless)?

What is the syntax for accounts?
Account name syntax: josmit3478. First two letters of the first name: John = jo
Next four letters of the last name: Smith = smit
Last four digits of their student id: 0023478 = 3478
What if I forget my password?
Your password can be reset for both Blackboard and the campus network account anywhere at: https://student-accounts.cabrillo.edu
Can I access the Student or Faculty Network storage folders from off campus?
No, you must be on campus to get to your network storage folders.
Will I have access in the CTC to the applications required for their classes?
Yes, students have access only to the applications required for their classes if the application is installed on that lab’s computer hard drive. Not all programs are installed on all campus lab computers. Students may not have access to an application if it is not required for their class. Everyone has access to Office and the internet.
Can I let others use my account?
No. Your account is only for you. Letting others use your account can result in loss of lab privileges.
