Educational Plannning

students and instructor

So, you’re wondering what classes to take?

Through working with counseling services, you can get help in defining your educational goal. The counseling division offers career planning classes and other career planning resources to help in this process.

Once you know where you’re headed, a counselor can help plan the classes you’ll need to reach your educational goal. This is known as educational planning.

An education plan states a specific goal, and lists the courses you’ll need to take, semester by semester, to reach that goal.

In creating an education plan, the counselor will need to review and evaluate all courses that you’ve completed in college. You will need to provide transcripts if you’ve attended colleges other than Cabrillo. The counselor will help you to include necessary course prerequisites, and to anticipate other deadlines and requirements to be successful.

Given the time involved in good educational planning, a counseling appointment is required to develop an education plan. An education plan cannot be created during express counseling.
