Some classes displayed on www.cvc.edu have a prerequisite requirement. If you select one of these classes, you will be prompted to upload a copy of your transcript as proof you meet the requirements. The college teaching the course will then review your request. Please note, it can take up to three working days for your request to be reviewed and your spot in the course is not reserved during that time.

If you receive academic accommodations from your Home college Accommodation Support Center (ASC), those services do not automatically transfer to CVC courses. To receive these accommodations, you will need to contact the ASC Office at (831) 479-6370 to apply. Please identify yourself as a CVC student.

Students using the CVC are subject to the payment policies of the college that is offering the class, i.e. the Teaching College. Since a college may have a drop for non-payment policy and deadline date; it is in a student’s best interest to pay for classes at the time of enrollment via the CVC in order to secure a seat in the class. Even if a student initially chooses the credit card option to pay for classes, eligible students are still allowed and encouraged to apply for both the CCPG and Federal Financial Aid at time of payment. If approved for either or both CCPG and Federal Aid, students who may have used the credit card option will be appropriately reimbursed.

1. Pay with credit card: The option to pay with a credit card through the payment portal is the most immediate payment option available to CVC students.

2. California Colleges Promise Grant (CCPG): Students who are eligible California residents, may apply for the California Colleges Promise Grant (CCPG) which can waive enrollment fees for qualified students for the entire school year. If a student has an approved CCPG with their Home College, students may apply for CCPG at the Teaching College of their choice to help cover tuition cost for courses taken through the CVC. Students will still be responsible for the non-tuition fees not covered by the CCPG.

3. Federal Financial Aid: If a CVC student is qualified to receive Federal Financial Aid from their Home College, to help cover the cost of tuition and fees for classes being taken at the Teaching College; they may request Federal Financial Aid from their Home College. This process takes time, therefore, students should pay their balance.
   

If you would like to be considered for a California Promise Grant (Fee Waiver) of your CVC course, please add Cabrillo College to your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or complete a California College Promise Grant (CCPG) application. Cabrillo College school code number is 001124.

If you are taking courses at a "teaching college," make a correction to your FAFSA and add the "teaching college" school code. By adding the school code to your FAFSA, the "teaching college" financial aid office may determine your eligibility for a California College Promise Grant (CCPG).

Refunds are subject to the policies and procedures of the college offering the course (Teaching College). The Teaching College is also responsible for processing individual refunds.

Accommodation Support Center (ASC)

• Any courses you enroll in via CVC will appear in your Canvas Dashboard, so you don't have to create a new account. You will log into Canvas using your current college login credentials and all of your CVC courses will be there.

• Once logged in to Canvas, you will see your CVC course on the dashboard.

• While you are in your CVC course in Canvas, you still have access to online resources at your home campus.

The college teaching the course will automatically send an electronic copy of your transcript to your Home College after the end of the term in which the course is completed. This can take up to three weeks for the college to send your transcript once the term has ended. If you need your credit sent to your Home College prior to the end of the term, you may need to request the transcript directly from the Teaching College rather than waiting for the automatic delivery at the end of term. If your home college has not received your transcript more than three weeks after the end of the term, please email support@cvc.edu.

When you are ready to transfer, you will still need to order transcripts from each college individually so that your transfer college gets copies of those official transcripts.
