What are the different types of dual enrollment?
Cabrillo has three types of dual enrollment
Individual dual enrollment: Individual dual enrollment is for high school students that are selecting courses on their own and not as a part of a CCAP pathway. Individual dual enrollment students select their courses with the guidance of their high school counselor. Individual dual enrollment students can take up to 11 units per semester for free and are responsible for the cost of their textbooks and materials.
College & Career Access Pathways (CCAP): CCAP allows Cabrillo and their partner high schools offer two semester series of college courses to support them in earning credits toward general education or career education certificates and degrees. Courses are offered at high school locations during the school day as a 'closed section' (only high school students!) or on the Cabrillo College campus after school. Current CCAP pathways include medical, advanced biotech, American Sign Language, Education (ECE), and dance. For a list of CCAP courses being offered please see the "Take Cabrillo courses while I'm in high school" tab below.
Adult dual enrollment: Students that are currently enrolled in a GED/HISET/HSD program at an adult school are eligible to take up to 11 units of classes at Cabrillo for free each semester. Adult dual enrollment students must complete the dual enrollment steps to qualify.
