Registration Holds

Registration holds prevent you from enrolling in classes.

Holds are restrictions that block your ability to register or waitlist in a course. If a hold is preventing registration, you’ll see an error message in red at the top right corner of your screen explaining what’s wrong.

Common reasons include:

  1. Unpaid balances from previous semesters

    1. Pay in full in Self Service or by phone through the Welcome Center

    2. Contact Admissions & Records for more information about payment plans

  2. Missing an application for Admissions

    1. Complete an application via CCCApply

  3. Residency verification issues

    1. Submit your request for reclassification: Residency Form

    2. Submit a California Nonresident Tuition Exemption

  4. Department holds (example: Counseling, Financial Aid, etc.)

  5. Not meeting course prerequisite/corequisite requirements

    1. Make an appointment with a Counselor

    2. Complete the Requisite Challenge or Corequisite Override form

  6. Online classes require a California address

    1. Submit a Student Change of Information form to update your address
