Cabrillo students who are currently enrolled in at least one class have access to a Cabrillo Google account. Your account includes Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

When will my account be available?

  • New Cabrillo students: If this is your first term, your Cabrillo Google account will become available on the first day of classes.

  • Continuing students: To maintain uninterrupted access between terms, register for an upcoming term before your current term ends.

    • During the fall semester, register for spring classes before fall ends.

    • During the spring semester, register for summer or fall classes before spring ends.

Set up your Cabrillo Google account

  1. Go to the Gmail sign-in page.

Already signed in to a personal Google account? Select your profile picture in the upper-right corner and choose Add another account.

  2. Enter your seven-digit student ID number followed by @student.cabrillo.edu.

    Example: 0490909@student.cabrillo.edu

  3. Select Next and enter the same password you use for Canvas and MyCabrillo.

  4. Review and accept the terms of service.

Your Cabrillo Google account is now ready to use. Select the nine-dot Google Apps icon in the upper-right corner to open Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and other available Google applications.

Troubleshooting tips

If you cannot sign in, check the following:

  • Make sure your account should be available based on the enrollment and account-availability information above.

  • Confirm that you are currently enrolled in at least one class. Being on a waitlist does not activate your account.

  • Make sure you entered your complete student email address using this format: 0490909@student.cabrillo.edu

  • Make sure you are using your seven-digit student ID number.

  • Try resetting your Cabrillo password.

Free Wi-Fi is available at the Aptos campus and Watsonville Center. Students should use secure-hawknet whenever possible.

Connect to secure-hawknet

  1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or computer.

  2. Select secure-hawknet from the list of available networks.

  3. Enter your seven-digit student ID number as your username.

  4. Enter the same password you use for Canvas and MyCabrillo.

  5. Select Trust on the Annie Certificate when prompted.

  6. Follow any additional prompts on your device to finish connecting.

Important: For Wi-Fi, enter only your seven-digit student ID number.

Connect to Cabrillo Guest

Use Cabrillo Guest if you do not have an active Cabrillo student account or cannot connect to secure-hawknet.

  1. Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device.

  2. Select Cabrillo Guest from the list of available networks.

  3. Open a web browser if a connection page does not appear automatically.

  4. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen to connect.

Because Cabrillo Guest is a guest network, secure-hawknet is recommended for currently enrolled students.

Troubleshooting tips

If you cannot connect, try the following:

  • Confirm that you selected the correct network.

  • Make sure you entered your seven-digit student ID number—not your student email address—as the secure-hawknet username.

  • Make sure you are using the same password you use for Canvas and MyCabrillo.

  • Turn Wi-Fi off and back on, then try connecting again.

  • Remove or “forget” the network in your device settings, then reconnect.

  • Move to another campus location to check whether the Wi-Fi signal improves.

  • Try resetting your Cabrillo password if your login is not working.

How to borrow a laptop

  1. Visit the Computer Technology Center beginning the third week of the semester.

  3. Ask whether a semester-loan laptop is available.

  4. Review and initial each section of the borrower agreement.

  5. Sign the agreement and complete the checkout process with Student Tech Help Desk staff.

Your responsibilities

By borrowing a laptop, you agree to:

  • Not tamper with the laptop’s hardware or software.

  • Return both the laptop and its power cord by the stated due date.

  • Provide a police report if the laptop is stolen.

Replacement costs

You may be responsible for the following replacement costs:

Failure to return the equipment or follow the borrower agreement may result in a hold being placed on your student account and the loss of future borrowing privileges.

Fall 2026 return deadline

Laptops and power cords must be returned to the CTC by December 11, 2026.

Add a reminder to your phone or calendar so you do not miss the return deadline. Renewals require approval from the CTC.

Enroll in SPARK

Students can print course materials and schoolwork for free at the Computer Technology Center. The CTC offers both black-and-white and color printing and has the only color printer on campus available for general student use.

Wi-Fi printing is not available. To print at the CTC, open your document on one of the CTC computers and send it to a CTC printer.

How to print at the CTC

  1. Sign in to a CTC computer using your seven-digit student ID number and Cabrillo password.

  2. Open the document you want to print.

  3. Select Print from the application’s File menu.

  4. Choose the black-and-white or color printer.

  5. Review the page range, number of copies, color settings, and other options before submitting the print job.

  6. Select Print and collect your pages from the appropriate printer.

Ask a CTC student assistant if you need help selecting the correct printer or changing your print settings.

Printing guidelines

Printing is free, but please help us conserve paper, toner, and other resources:

  • Use CTC printers only for schoolwork and course materials.

  • Review your document before printing to avoid blank, duplicate, or unnecessary pages.

  • Print only the pages you need.

  • Use the black-and-white printer unless color is necessary for the assignment or material.

  • Do not print an entire textbook at one time. Print only the chapter or section you currently need.

  • Ask for help before resubmitting a print job that did not print correctly.
