Hello, my name is Martín Garcia (he/him/his), and I have been working for Cabrillo College since 2019 as an English professor, having previously worked at Gavilan College, Hartnell College, and UC Santa Cruz. I am a Watsonville native and graduate of Watsonville High School, Cabrillo College (A.A. in Liberal Arts), UC Berkeley (B.A. in English), and UC Santa Cruz (M.A. in Literature). In addition to teaching general principles of critical thinking, composition, and research, I focus on the following subjects: critical theory, environmentalism, feminism, immigration, Indigenous studies, Mexican-American/Chicanx studies, and the general Pájaro Valley region. In my personal life, I am married with four children, I enjoy basketball and running, and I dabble in coaching.
