Hello! I was excited to join the esteemed faculty at Cabrillo College. I started my own collegiate journey at a community college and have a love of both psychology and teaching. Rather than choose between the two, I decided to teach psychology!

After earning my Associate's Degree, I transferred to UC San Diego to complete my Bachelor's Degree. I then took two years off to get valuable research experience before entering graduate school. I earned my Master's Degree from San Diego State University and was very fortunate to study for a short time at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. I was able to translate my research materials to French (with much help from my labmates!) and build a multi-cultural research collaboration. This sparked a series of research presentations around the world, including Vancouver and Edinburgh, and even a few published articles. Soon after my graduation I began teaching at multiple community colleges in San Diego. I was excited to relocate to Northern California to join the full-time faculty at Monterey Peninsula College in 2012 and now part-time at Cabrillo.

One of my most treasured roles is as a mother. My kind and smart son, Jonathan, is in third grade and Alyssa, my daughter, is a rambunctious, sweet and sassy new Kindergartener. You can bet that I'm busy preparing for class while keeping one eye on those little mischief makers (they just love to climb on anything and everything!) or busily working after they are in bed for the night.
