Greater Opportunity through Adult Learning (GOAL)

Santa Cruz County GOAL is excited to be part of a larger state-wide movement to improve adult education in California. Thanks to the Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG), a special state grant dedicated to improving adult education, we're able to find new ways to expand, coordinate, promote, and improve local adult education programs.

The Adult Education Block Grant (AEBG) funds adult education in Santa Cruz County. Currently the Watsonville/Aptos/Santa Cruz Adult Education schools and Cabrillo College receive funds to support adult education classes and programs including: GED preparation, English as a Second Language, Career Technical Education, and Adult Basic Education. This funding also supports the seamless transition and acceleration of adult learners from adult school and community settings into higher education.

The Adult Education Block Grant is having positive impacts in the lives of adult learners across the state. Everyday people are reaching their personal and career goals with adult education and changing their lives for the better. Adult learning is also supporting California's economy by giving individuals the academic, language, and career skills they need to advance their careers, find better jobs, or further their education.
