Background

I was trained as an architect and then as a furniture maker in Scotland before moving to the United States in 1989 and becoming a product designer. Ever since then the inter related fields of digital modeling, animation, and manufacturing have taken up larger proportions of my time and interest. In 2011 I was asked by UCSC to teach digital modeling and, two years later, animation. In 2016 Cabrillo College also asked me to teach 3D modeling and animation along with a course on 2D animation. I'm currently still teaching at both institutions as well as running StudioCruz, a design and presentation consultancy.
