I am the Program Coordinator for the Learning Communities Center at Cabrillo College, where I oversee two cohorted programs, Estrellas and Estrellas CSUMB, and coordinate the Math PLUS program in August and January. My approach to leadership is rooted in authenticity and student-centeredness, with a deep commitment to belonging, academic success, and completion across the Aptos and Watsonville campuses. I lead with integrity, cultural humility, and an unwavering focus on creating pathways that honor students' lived experiences and aspirations.
Raised in the Bay Area by immigrant parents from Mexico and El Salvador, my upbringing deeply shaped my values and my passion for equity and community. In 2020, I made the move to Royal Oaks, putting down roots in the very region I am honored to serve.
A proud Puente alumna, I began my higher education journey at De Anza Community College as a first-generation student, an experience that ignited my commitment to supporting others along that same path. I transferred to California State University, East Bay, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Higher Education Leadership at San José State University, deepening my practice in holistic, equity-centered student support across all academic pathways.
That educational journey informs everything I do professionally. I previously served in the Financial Aid and Admissions offices at Cabrillo's Watsonville Center, and my broader background includes K–12 education in Palo Alto and nonprofit childcare work in Watsonville, experiences that together reflect my long-standing dedication to educational access and community well-being.
