In English C1000, you will master the reading and writing skills you need to be successful in your college and professional careers! Our section of English C1000 has a unifying theme—working. We will use our class’s readings and writing assignments to explore:
how our society rewards different kinds of work,
how we experience the work we do/ how work we do defines us,
how we can educate ourselves about the career paths we are preparing ourselves for,
the phenomenon of meaningless or even harmful jobs, and,
work that, while usually uncompensated (with money), can be the most important work human beings can do: creative and artistic work, self-care, recovery from addiction or trauma, political activism, child care/ care work, and spiritual work.
