My name is Jouney Chong Patun (pronounced like “Je-nay” and “PAT-un”), and I’m excited to be one of Cabrillo’s FYE instructors. I’ve worked in community colleges for nearly 20 years in both student support and teaching roles, including advising international students, providing academic counseling, and teaching English as a Second Language. I hold graduate degrees in Education (with a focus on International and Intercultural Education) and in Counseling and Guidance.

As a Korean American and first-generation college student, I know that everyone’s college journey is different, and that starting college can come with many new experiences, questions, and challenges. My hope is to support students as they navigate this new chapter and to contribute to the Cabrillo community in a meaningful way.
