Hey there, and welcome to my web page!
I'm Martin Rodriguez, and I'm excited to have you here! I've been teaching at Cabrillo College since 2017, and this fall, I'm your ESL 341-1 instructor.
Working with students like you is one of my favorite things about teaching. I was born in Mexico, but California has been my home for many years.
I studied Spanish Literature and Latin-American Studies at San Jose State University, and later earned my M.A. in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at the University of San Francisco. I love learning new things right alongside my students! Some of my favorite things to do are taking photos, dancing, reading, hiking, and biking, and I also really enjoy adventure activities like skydiving and diving. I’m a big fan of technology and love to travel. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll probably find me with my family and friends. If you have any questions or just want to say hi, don’t hesitate to email me!
As an English learner myself, I truly understand how challenging and exciting it can be to learn a new language and move from one country to another. I’m here to support you in the classroom, and I’m always happy to help during my office hours if you need extra assistance. Once again, welcome to my class—let’s make this semester awesome together!

Soy Martin Rodriguez y ¡me emociona tenerlos aquí! He estado enseñando en Cabrillo College desde 2017 y este otoño seré su instructor de ESL 341-1.
Trabajar con estudiantes como ustedes es una de las cosas que más disfruto de la enseñanza. Nací en México, pero California ha sido mi hogar durante muchos años.
Estudié Literatura Española y Estudios Latinoamericanos en la Universidad Estatal de San José, y luego obtuve mi maestría en TESOL (Enseñanza de Inglés a Hablantes de Otros Idiomas) en la Universidad de San Francisco. ¡Me encanta aprender cosas nuevas junto a mis estudiantes! Algunas de mis actividades favoritas son tomar fotos, bailar, leer, hacer senderismo y andar en bicicleta. Además, disfruto mucho de las actividades de aventura como el paracaidismo y el buceo. Soy fanático de la tecnología y me gusta viajar. Cuando no estoy en el aula, probablemente me encuentres con mi familia y amigos. Como aprendiz de inglés, realmente entiendo lo desafiante y emocionante que puede ser aprender un nuevo idioma y mudarse de un país a otro.
