I'm so very glad to be teaching Sociology at Cabrillo College since it was at a California community college that my passion for analyzing how large social forces affect individuals was first ignited! Working at Cabrillo is like coming full circle.

I love sociology because it allows me to indulge my curiosity about a wide range of social issues and gives me the inspiration and tools to work for a more just, humane society.

I currently teach Introduction to Sociology, Contemporary Social Problems, and Popular Culture. One of my main goals as an educator is to design and deliver instruction that is engaging and relevant to students' lives. My view is that education should not just be an intellectual pursuit, but also be humanizing and transformational.

Outside of work I take every opportunity to spend time with plants, cats, and books. I love to cook and hang out with friends. An avid baseball and soccer fan, my favorite teams are the St. Louis Cardinals and Real Madrid FC.
