Hello! My name is Travis Esquivel and I am stoked to discuss Earth Science with people! My natural passion is to share knowledge as an Environmental Geologist focusing on geochemical behavior.

After a truly dissatisfying career in Retail Management, the decision was made to pursue higher education to change my life. Many years were spent at a number of community colleges (Math is hard) before going on to study Geology at Humboldt State University. In 2017, I earned a B.S. in Geology with a minor in Analytical Chemistry. After graduating at HSU some years were spent in the environmental consulting realm. When the opportunity presented itself, the move was made to pursue a graduate degree. In 2024, I completed a Master of Science degree at UC Santa Cruz in Environmental Toxicology (biogeochemistry). My thesis (Fluvial Methylmercury in Napa Valley) focused on pollutant transformations and fates as chemicals migrate through geologic systems.

My goal is to employ geological and chemical knowledge in academic settings to help guide students along their path in their academic careers. Earth science is a source of joy for me - thinking, talking, and learning more about it.
