Cabrillo’s Makerspace brings together like-minded young people, mentors, educators and community members in our digital fabrication facilities to help make ideas become reality.

This collaborative community celebrates an open-ended culture of creativity, innovation, and experimentation. Diverse disciplines like math, science, art, craft, engineering, green design, music, and more, come together into ambitious projects.

Makerspace Peer Tech Coach

Meet Chris, a Makerspace student assistant since 2019. As an engineering major, he excels in CAD and 3D modeling and is proficient in 3D printing, laser engraving/cutting, and the vinyl cutter. Chris also wields Adobe software expertise for creative projects, and is passionate about blending technology and innovation, he helps turn ideas into reality within our Makerspace community.


RENIN

Makerspace Peer Tech Coach

Meet Renin, a Makerspace student assistant since 2025. As CIS major, he excels in 3D modeling and is proficient in 3D printing, vinyl cutting, sticker making, and our large format printer. Renin has strong experience in the Adobe suite for creative projects and is passionate about teaching computer literacy. His experience in the game modding community has helped him excel with his 3D model and software skills.

SABRINA

Makerspace Peer Tech Coach

Sabrina is a multimedia artist with a bachelor’s degree in Visual and Public Art from CSUMB. She specializes in 3D assemblage art and photography, and with over 10 years of Adobe experience, she sees digital media as a powerful tool for change. In the Makerspace, she is eager to help students explore new creative possibilities.

CARLOS

Makerspace Peer Tech Coach

Carlos is working towards his Computer Information Systems Associate in Science degree. Started as a Student Assistant in Spring 2025 and is in process of getting as much experience as possible. He enjoys 3d printing and is willing to start learning how to 3d design. With enough practice can learn, and then teach the process in how to run the machines. How hard can it be?
