Interns and Volunteers

Learn and grow with us

The Stroke and Disability Learning Center (SDLC) welcomes student interns and volunteers interested in learning about disability education, how to work with seniors and how to assist people living with functional loss and chronic health challenges.

If you are planning a career in nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, counseling, human services, dental hygiene, medical assisting or other health occupations, consider joining the team as a volunteer. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Anticipate being able to join at least one 90 minute weekly class.

If you are enrolled in Cabrillo College, you may arrange to earn college credit through the Internship and Work Experience program.

You may participate in the SDLC as part of the Cabrillo College program in Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Human Services or other program.

If you are enrolled at UCSC, San Jose State University or another college, you may arrange to meet internship requirements through the Stroke and Disability Learning Center. Please call for an interview (831) 477-3300.

If you are not a student and are interested in volunteering, call to discuss your interests and skills with the SDLC faculty to determine what placement would be appropriate.
