Cabrillo Talks

Come share your story with the Cabrillo College Community via Cabrillo Talks.

But what exactly is Cabrillo Talks?

Modeled after the renowned "Ted Talks," our local version aims to create an impact and foster community through the power of storytelling. Unlike the big ideas of Ted Talks, Cabrillo Talks focuses on the unique narratives of our very own Cabrillo community members. By sharing our stories, we hope to cultivate a stronger sense of belonging and unity right here at Cabrillo.

You matter. Your story matters.

That's why we are reaching out to encourage you to be one of our storytellers. We welcome students, staff, and faculty to apply and take this opportunity to inspire others with their personal narratives.

This event is proudly sponsored by the Office of Student Equity, aligning directly with Cabrillo College's mission to empower students as effective communicators, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens. Participating in Cabrillo Talks will not only enhance your communication and storytelling skills but also provide you with a platform to positively influence our audience through the power of your story. What's more, it will undoubtedly add a valuable touch to your resume!

Our Theme?

Our inaugural theme for Cabrillo Talks is "Empathy, Courage, & Resilience."

  • How have these qualities manifested in your life?

  • What part of your story resonates with this theme?
