Welcome to FCN, a space for faculty to learn, collaborate, and support each other. We aim to enhance teaching practices, help create inclusive classrooms, and help each other. That's it.

Principles for Mindful Dialogue (abbreviated)
1. Intention to Learn
Listen to understand others' perspectives. Paraphrase and question to deepen understanding.
2. Intention to be of Benefit to Self and Others
Engage with empathy and curiosity. Avoid assuming what's best for others.
3. Intention to Seek to be a Clean Mirror
Reflect on your own biases and emotions. Avoid ignoring others' experiences.
4. Intention to Reflect Concise and Truthful Speech
Share speaking time and stay on topic. Let speech emerge from silence.

How FCN Works
1. Team Collaboration
Work in teams of three. Discuss goals, expectations, and classes to observe. Big Rose reveal of teams happens on 9/5 in Michael's Backyard!

2. Classroom Observations
Visit each other's classes within the first 8-10 weeks, with the spirit of inquiry, and appreciation. We will also provide a list of folks open to folks visiting anytime they are teaching!
3. Gatherings
Attend any of our Friday work parties: drop into room 1096 anytime between 10-2. Snacks, and friends.
4. Resource Sharing
Contribute to a shared repository of teaching materials and books. Stay Tuned:) on location.
