MySeahawkPD is our Cabrillo College portal to register for Professional Development workshops, training, and Flex Events, record flex credit, print reports of your learning, and create a community with our Cabrillo colleagues and with the broader California Community College System of colleagues. MySeahawkPD is part of the California statewide Vision Resource Center. The Transformative Learning Center (TLC) manages the VRC MySeahawkPD.

Use this guide to answer questions on common topics related to attending and facilitating Flex events or other VRC trainings.

FAQ

Yes! Using My Seahawk PD you have access to hundreds of courses and events through the Vision Resource Center. Check out the section on personalizing your profile to get course recommendations in your Learner Home. All employees (faculty and staff) also use My Seahawk PD for mandatory compliance trainings.

Begin by selecting the menu in the upper right-hand corner. Select "Learning" and then select "My Transcript". Locate the event under Active or Completed status. Select the arrow next to the “View Training Details” button, and select "Move to Archived Transcript". If experiencing trouble, contact the event manager and ask them to remove you from their roster.

Note: Archived training is NOT included in your completed hours. Only archive a training if you signed up for the event by mistake or were unable to attend.

If you signed a sign-in sheet or attended a Zoom session (and your name was on display) the activity facilitator should add you when marking off attendance. Attendance should be marked one week after the event. If you do not see it added to your transcript after a week, please reach out to your activity facilitator to add you to the activity.

Activity facilitators are required to keep a roster of all attendees, and should add you when marking off attendance. It can take up to one week for records to be updated. If you do not see it added to your transcript after a week, please reach out to your activity facilitator to add you.

  • Full-time Faculty need a 36-hour minimum per year.

  • Associate Faculty need a minimum 1 hour of flex activity per teaching unit each semester.

Log in to your VRC profile and select the “Flex Total” button in the upper left-hand corner. For more details jump to theTracking Flex Credit Section.

Try refreshing your Completed Flex Dashboard by going to the VRC Home > Flex Totals > Completed Flex. Select the button in the upper right-hand corner of the “Completed PD Flex Report” card. Select “Refresh” from the dropdown menu.

Note: If this does not work, please reach out to your facilitator or fill out the TLC Support Form for assistance.

Typically, 1 hour per 1 hour of your activity.

Please consult your Dean for recommendation and approval.

  • For faculty, it will be your Dean.

  • For staff, it will be your direct supervisor.

Flex Activity Facilitators need to use the external credit request feature to get their double credit for the activities they lead.

If you are associate faculty, you can submit one bulk request for all activities you led that term.

If you are full-time faculty, you can submit one bulk request for the year.
