Learn more about Dual Admission to a UC & CSU

What is Dual Admission?
The Postsecondary Education Trailer Bill (AB 132) created a Dual Admission program between the California community colleges (CCC) and the Univeristy of California (UC) / California State University (CSU) systems. The Dual Admission program guarantees future admission for California Community College students who plan to transfer within three years to a UC or CSU, helping increase access—especially for underrepresented students—and providing a clearer pathway to transferring and earning a bachelor’s degree at a UC or CSU. SB 640 builds on this effort by extending the CSU dual admission through 2036 and introducing a CSU Direct Admission program for eligible high school students starting in 2026–27.
The UC Dual Admission program provides select first-year applicants with a conditional admission guarantee to a University of California (UC) campus, along with additional UC support as they complete their transfer requirements. Participation is by invitation only and limited to eligible first-year applicants. The program is designed to expand access to the UC system and offer targeted support to help students successfully prepare for transfer.
