Cinematic Arts - Transfer Pathway to CSUMB
Program Overview
The Associate in Science in Film, Television, and Electronic Media for Transfer (A.S.-T in Film, Television, and Electronic Media) is intended for students who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree with a similar major at a CSU campus.
Completion of the Associate in Science in Film, Television, and Electronic Media for Transfer (A.S.-T in Film, Television, and Electronic Media) guarantees admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus. This degree focuses on television and video producing; script writing; directing; camera operation; video editing; and audio recording, mixing, and post-production for video, streaming, and broadcast media. Students experience an enriching curriculum in the history of film, video, and the moving image to enrich aesthetic and intellectual proficiency in the film and digital media landscape as well as practical hands-on pre-production skills in multimedia video production. The courses present a holistic approach, both artistic and academic, to the study of film and video, including pre-production planning methods, technical production skills, and post-production editing and visual effects for distribution. Students who achieve this degree and a baccalaureate degree will be able to work as videographers, video production technicians, camera operators, video editors, directors, or producers in many fields including film, television, video, marketing, communication, design, social media, and technology. Students should meet with an academic counselor to review course requirements for specific CSUs or to a university or college that is not part of the CSU system.
