Course Details:

  • The Internship and Work Experience classes are repeatable.

  • Students can opt to take between .5-12 units per semester. The Instructor will advise you on how many units to take if you are not sure. 1 unit = 54 hours of work experience.

  • Students must have an employer designated in order to register for the class, the Employment and Internship Office can help you with this!

Internship for-credit registration process:

  • The course runs every semester, however sections are built as needed and may not appear in the schedule of classes--students must fill out the Enrollment Request Form and be approved before they can get authorized to have their section built and add the course to their schedule.

  • If you have an employer in mind, you can download and start to fill out the Employer Agreement so that it's ready to go when the Instructor asks for it.

  • Once approved, the instructor will send you directions on how to register for your course using “My Cabrillo”. Please reach out to Serena Federman, the Internship and Work Experience Instructor if you have questions sefederm@cabrillo.edu

"I felt the sense of belonging since the first day of my internship at Granite Construction. I'm a woman, and construction is still a male-dominated industry. I really want to continue inspiring other girls and women to pursue a career in the construction industry."
