I am the CalWORKS Job Developer. I come to this role with 18 years of experience in outdoor experiential education, teaching and training kids, teens, and adults of all ages. I have mentored hundreds of UCSC students and helped them find jobs in their chosen fields. I have a passion for building up a team and working collaboratively with students and community members to empower students to achieve their goals.
Some of the things I am most proud of:
Created a young professionals workshop and cohort at the 1st bi-annual Growing School Gardens Summit.
Developed an educational garden site in Watsonville, which ran for 10 years, where hundreds of kids and college students learned life sciences and connected with nature.
Advanced and started multiple interdisciplinary and outdoor programs for kids, teens and adults and developing strategies for engaging a diverse student population.
Every one of my college interns and temporary staff. Helping them prepare for their next level jobs and watching them grow into their capabilities.
Education: I have a B.A from UCSC in Environmental studies and a minor in Anthropology
