Prior to his arrival at Cabrillo in 2018, Jussi developed successful choral programs at Boone High School and Liberty Middle School in Orlando, Florida, as well as Diplomat Middle School in Cape Coral, Florida. He earned both a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Choral Music Education from Florida State University.

Jussi was recognized as an Emerging Leader by the Florida Music Educators Association in 2002-03. In 2007-08, he was named Secondary Music Teacher of the Year in Lee County School District. He has served on the state board of the Florida Vocal Association, both as a district chairperson and in the role of Technology Chair. He has previously served as coordinator of the All-County Chorus in Lee County School District (Florida) from 2005-09 and as chairperson of the High School Honor Choir for Orange County Public Schools (Florida) from 2010-14. He has served as an honor choir clinician and adjudicated choir festivals in Florida and California.

Jussi has an affinity for technology in education. He served as the Technology Committee Chair & Webmaster for the Florida Vocal Association from 2007-2018, and he enjoys utilizing technology to enhance his teaching.

Memberships include the National Association for Music Education, and American Choral Directors Association. He is active as an adjudicator and honor choir clinician.
