Alessa Heredia-Guzman

Hi, my name is Alessa Heredia-Guzman, I am a 2+2 student and a peer mentor for the program. I graduated from Watsonville High School in 2021 and this is my first year at Cabrillo College. I plan to transfer to a 4-year university. I am currently majoring in Horticulture- Agriculture Plant Science. My goal as a peer mentor is to help others strive towards success. Something about myself is that I am bilingual, I speak English and Spanish. I hope that this can benefit others who also speak these languages and are seeking help. A few things about myself are that I enjoy going out in nature, I like to cook different types of food, and I like to spend time with my friends and family.

Liz Zuniga Zamudio

Liz is a student and a single mom of two. She has a handsome twelve-year son and a beautiful and witty eight-year-old daughter. She was born and raised in the city of good old Watsonville. She’s been a basketball athlete all her life and volunteers as a youth basketball coach in her spare time. She plays for women’s basketball leagues too, which is how she developed an interest in Kinesiology. She accidentally tore her ACL at one of her games, and while receiving treatment, she learned so much about physical therapy she decided to pursue a career as a PT for athletes herself. She’s worked as an administrative professional for 15 years, which also fits in with her interest in a business degree. She’s a student with a very driven, go-getter, encouraging, and assertive mind. She loves to help her community by volunteering or going above and beyond for people when they’re in any kind of need. She enjoys learning that she strongly believes and follows the phrase “knowledge is power.” She believes that any new knowledge or education is more powerful than physical strength and no great work can be done without it.
