International Baccalaureate (IB)

IB exams exams taken at the HL (High Level) with scores 5, 6, or 7 can be applied to admissions and program requirements.

To request the use of IB credit toward your degree:

  1. Send an official copy of the IB results to Cabrillo.

  2. Meet with an Academic Counselor to review your IB results and start the process to apply scores to meet requirements.

The UC awards 5.3 semester units for IB scores of 5 or higher; the CSU system awards 3 semester units.

The following restrictions apply:

  • The IB curriculum offers language at various levels for native and non-native speakers.

  • Language B courses are offered at the intermediate level for non-native speakers. Language A1 and A2 are advanced courses in literature for native and non-native speakers, respectively.

*IB exam may be used in either area regardless of where the certifying CCC's discipline is located.
