For privacy and fairness, omit personal photos, social security numbers, birth dates, and gender from your application materials.

To stay organized, keep copies of your application materials and track important deadlines in a calendar or planner. All materials and email updates will also be available in the account you used to apply.
Can I apply with just a resume or curriculum vitae?

What is the maximum file size?
5MB

Do I have to answer the supplemental questions?
Yes. Applications received without complete answers in the answer boxes will be screened out of the selection process. Employment experience referred to in your response must also be included in the Employment History section of the application. "See resume", “Will discuss at interview”, links, or information already in your application or other attached documents will NOT be accepted as a substitute for your responses to these questions.
When answering supplemental questions, read through each question carefully—more than once—to ensure you fully understand what is being asked.
Answer all questions thoroughly with detailed and thoughtful responses that demonstrate your qualifications and alignment with Cabrillo College’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Share your experiences working with and supporting diverse populations, and explain your strategies for fostering equity and inclusion in the workplace to demonstrate cultural humility.
Be yourself—Cabrillo College values authenticity and diverse perspectives, so let your unique background and experiences shine through.
Finally, consider having someone proofread your answers to the supplemental questions to get a helpful second opinion.
Do I have to complete the Education and Work Experience section in my application if I am attaching my resume/CV and/or transcripts?
Yes. It is important to complete the application entirely regardless of attachments. Applications missing education and/or work experience are considered incomplete and will not be forwarded to the Search and Selection Committee for review.
Can I apply for a faculty or an administrator position if I do not have the degree(s) listed in the minimum qualifications?
Yes. If you do not have the degree(s) as listed in the minimum qualifications, you can apply on the basis of equivalency by completing the Equivalency Application Form.
Why do I have to complete an Equivalency Application Form?
For all Faculty and Educational Administrator positions, Cabrillo College is required by the California Community College State Chancellor’s Office to verify that applicants have the exact degree in the discipline as listed in the State Minimum Qualifications Handbook (this is different for UC and CSU institutions), and any additional discipline specific requirements that are all listed on the job bulletin. If your transcripts do not list this exact degree or if you do not meet the additional discipline specific requirements, you will be asked to complete a simple Equivalency Application Form. By completing this form, your application materials will go through a more comprehensive review process to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications.
Example: If the position requires a Master’s degree in Spanish and your transcripts indicate you have a Master’s degree in Romance Languages, you will be required to complete an Equivalency Application Form.
I attended college outside of the United States of America. What do I need to do?
Colleges outside the U.S. or Puerto Rico (a U.S. territory) do not always have the equivalent grading system and/or structure, therefore, foreign transcripts must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency (preferably on a course by course basis) by an agency that can assess and determine U.S. equivalency. Diplomas, certificates, and teaching credentials will not substitute this requirement. The cost of such evaluations is at the applicant’s expense. Language translation is not the same as evaluation for U.S. equivalency.
Transcripts: Always required for faculty positions. Any non-U.S. transcripts must be evaluated to U.S. standards. Diplomas are not accepted in lieu of transcripts.
Teaching Credentials: Teaching Credentials are accepted but are not required. The Teaching Credential information should be added to the Certificates and Licenses section of your application, do not need to be attached, and should be current.
Highlight Teaching Experience: Emphasize your teaching background, especially with diverse or multilingual student populations.
Prepare for a Presentation or a Teaching Demonstration: If selected, you may be asked to give a presentation or a teaching demonstration. Practice presenting material clearly, engaging students, and addressing equity in your teaching style.
Show Commitment to Student Success: Share examples of how you support students’ academic and personal growth, particularly students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Familiarize Yourself With the Classes/Programs of Cabrillo College: Review Cabrillo’s current Catalog and Course Offerings to identify how your experience complements Cabrillo College and the contributions you can offer.
Demonstrate Organizational Skills: Highlight experience managing multiple tasks, coordinating events, or supporting teams.
Showcase Communication Abilities: Provide examples of effective written and oral communication, especially in diverse settings if given the opportunity.
Emphasize Teamwork and Collaboration: Cabrillo College values employees who work well with others and contribute to an inclusive, welcoming environment.
