State Partners

The Education Futures Project provides funding aimed at launching a statewide effort to incorporate Teacher Preparation Pipeline (TPP) programs throughout California Community Colleges.

Cabrillo College has received Education Futures funds for its TPP program.The TPP program mission is to identify future teachers and give them an opportunity to start their career pathway to teaching by starting at the community college level. This program is designed to support students that are interested in K-12 education and/or students and professionals working in industry who want to teach Career and Technical Education (CTE). Cabrillo's TPP program partners with all California community colleges.

Cabrillo is one of seven Model Teacher Preparation Programs in the State of California. Specifically, its Service Learning and Field Experience is viewed as a model for other community colleges that would like to create a similar program.

Regional Partners

The Bay Area Community College Consortium (BACCC) include the thirteen community colleges in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. School districts and California State Universities are also part of the collaborative. These members meet monthly to share ideas on how to develop and improve programs.
