Summer Session consists several sessions of SHORT TERM CLASSES.
Dates and Deadlines for all Short-Term/Open Entry classes vary depending on the start date of the class.
For example, enrollment fees will be reversed only if you have officially withdrawn by refund date.
This deadline in a summer session is often the first day the class meets.

Application for 2026-27 admissions open. Apply to Cabrillo anytime on or after this date; allow 3 to 5 business days for processing to create your account. If you do not receive a welcome email from Cabrillo College with your student ID number, email Admissions and Records (webreg@cabrillo.edu) with your confirmation number.

The 2026-2027 Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available.
Priority Application Deadline: The priority deadline for submitting your financial aid application is March 2, 2026.
Financial Aid Application Closes: 2026-2027 Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application window closes June 30, 2027.

- March 20, 2026Priority Registration Due Date: complete activities to earn an earlier registration date
Students who either have an active student status or have a Summer 2026 application processed prior to March 20, 2026 and complete placement, submit the orientation etrieve form, and plan some classes will earn an earlier registration date.
How does registration ranking work? Ranked priority groups receive specific registration windows. Priority group applicants who complete the activities listed above by March 20, 2026 will be eligible to register on their respective registration priority date.
Pro Tip: If you applied to Cabrillo after March 20, 2026 you will not need a priority register date and can register during Open Registration on or after May 19, 2026.

Petition to graduate for your AA or AS degree and/or certificates by this date in order to participate in the 2026 Commencement Ceremony.
Includes: Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS) and Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T or AS-T) and Certificates.
Avoid delays, update all your information now. Cabrillo will use all the information listed in your record to:
populate your name on your diploma
send you an email notification of any certificates that will be auto-awarded
send your RSVP information to participate in the Commencement Ceremony, if you petition to graduate on or prior to April 9, 2026

Mail-in ballots: All active registered voters will automatically receive a vote-by-mail ballot, which counties will begin mailing by May 4, 2026.

Election Day – Polls shall be open throughout the state from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

First Day of classes. View short term dates and deadlines specific to your class. Summer session includes multiple sessions ranging from 4-8 weeks long. Start and end dates for each class vary. See the Schedule of Classes and connect with your instructor to make sure you know when your class starts and ends.

Registration remains OPEN for some courses if you have been granted an add authorization by the course instructor.
Need to add a course? Here's what you need to do:
Request an add authorization, attend the first class meeting or email the instructor.
Once you've been granted an add authorization, register through Student Planning.
Need to drop a course?
Go to Student Planning, and select the drop option for the section.
Dates and Deadlines for all short-term classes: course fees will be reversed only if you have officially withdrawn by 10% of the class meetings. This deadline is often the day the class first meets. DEADLINE to request Pass|No-pass for short-term classes is the last day of instruction.

Students: Make sure you're registered in your classes and your are showing on the class rosters because your Financial Aid award will not be adjusted after this date.

For Financial Aid recipients who have dropped all classes on or before this date, you may be required to repay disbursed finds; are encouraged to connect with Financial Aid for more information about enrollment changes, over payment and repayment.
If you drop yourself or an instructor drops you from a class on Census, you will receive a “W” and be charged for the units.

Last day to drop sections to be eligible to return parking permits and receive a refund. For a refund return your physical parking permit to the Welcome Center in Aptos or the Watsonville Center.

The last day to drop a course with a grade of "W" (W-Withdrawal) being notated on your academic record. Students are responsible for all charges.

Deadline for students who have petitioned for a Degree/Certificate and are requesting for external coursework to be applied. Examples include AP/IB/CLEP scores, external institutions (high school, military, or other college/university institutions). Official transcripts not received by this deadline will be moved a semester or declined for graduation.
